How do I know if my pet needs a referral?

If your pet has an eye condition that just isn't going away despite yours and your vets best efforts

If your pet has an eye problem that gets better initially and then comes back again days, weeks or even months later

If you are concerned and just want the clarity that a thorough, detailed examination brings (as not all vets have access to the equipment needed)
Please note: if you would like your pet to have a referral appointment this will need to be discussed and arranged through your normal vet.
If you feel that your pet may benefit from a referral, or if you aren't sure if a referral is needed, please speak to your vet. Alternatively if you just need a bit of advice please fill out the advice form.
I firmly believe that all animals deserve to have access to appropriate care, and so if referral is not a possibility for your situation I will happily provide advice to your vets. If this would be helpful for you please speak to your vet in the first instance, who will reach out to me.
Personalised, understanding care
I understand that your pets are your family, and that it can be equally worrying and stressful to need to seek veterinary care. Please know that this is a non-judgmental space, where all of the options, benefits, risks and costs will be discussed so that you can make the best decision for your pet and for your circumstances.

Please note: initial referral consultations should be organised through your vet, however this will allow you to request a referral, or request a timeslot if your vet has already requested a referral.

The cost of the appointment is listed but this does not include any medications or further investigations that may be required. This will all be discussed in the appointment so you can make the right choices for you and your pet. Payment is due to the clinic on the day.
